The 2021 Annual Exhibition
An exceptional year calls for an exceptional exhibition!
Our Annual Exhibition is the climax of the season, and what a season it’s been! With Lockdown 2 being put in place as we re-started in September 2020, the Council took the decision to move the programme entirely online. That included regular Monday meetings, and also the Special Interest Group monthly meetings. There were many other workshops too.
Through the resourcefulness and creativity of the leading members, headed by President Jonathan Vaines, the club didn’t miss a beat, and it has been another year packed with inspiring, encouraging and developmental talks, competitions and workshops.
The members and speakers adapted incredibly well, and all meetings have maintained high attendance.
The Annual Exhibition was another challenge: how to operate with three external Selectors, each working from home; and how to display the chosen images in way that best reflects the quality of the photography? This presentation is down to the contribution of many of the Council members; and, for the system underpinning it all, one person in particular – our webmaster – Ian Wilson.
Exhibition Selection
We thank our Selectors – Barbie Lindsay, Roy Essery and Paul Radden. Please meet the Selectors here.
The 2021 Exhibition attracted an entry of 855 entries from 79 entrants from which 422 of the highest scoring images were selected.
Selection took place on a single day, with all participants online – the Selectors scoring at the same time, the scores recorded immediately into our database. The Selectors then revisited the images to choose the award-winners.
